Los Angeles-based Tigra Tigra, founded by Bailey Hunter in 2016, preserves ancient Indian textile traditions through contemporary design. Working exclusively with artisans in Gujarat—mashroo weavers in Old Patan, dye masters in Bhuj and Ahmedabad, and embroiderers specializing in warli, aari, and appliqué—each garment is entirely handmade without electricity. Signature pieces feature hand-woven mashroo silk, an Ottoman-era technique with silk exterior and cotton interior, and intricate warli embroidery that takes a month per meter to complete. Hand-dyed with non-toxic or natural pigments, collections balance raw elegance with experimental silhouettes, drawing inspiration from Indian jugaad culture and Miami's neon-soaked visual language. Every piece is one-of-a-kind, shaped by the irregularities and rhythms of handcraft.
